Summer Swimming

The temperature around here has been hovering around 95-100 degrees with pretty high humidity, so we decided to spend our day by the nearest body of cool, clean water.

Miss E. has a problem with heights, meaning she does not really like them and despite being encouraged multiple times over the years she has never jumped off the diving board.  Well, today she did

and did again, and again, and again

a total of five times!  which is a HUGE feat for her.

that is one pleased little girl, her momma is awfully pleased too!

Hot days and warm nights

Smash has been at Young Women's camp this week and J. has been busy with the Young Men so it has just been me and Miss E at home.

Miss E goes out a plays with the baby goats(this one is Molly) every day

This one(Polly) is tickling Miss E and causing lots of laughter

J taught Miss E how to shoot the top off of the milk container, she had a lot of fun doing that ALL day!

In the evening we went outside to catch fireflies.  Miss E. is teasing me because I asked her to stop rubbing her nose every time I took a picture

 She really wants those fireflies!

look who was waiting for us when we came back!

We Have Twins

One of our goats gave birth to a couple of kids yesterday and then abandoned them.  We brought them into the house last night and have been feeding them every two to three hours ever since.

This one Miss E calls oreo but I think she looks more like peanut (she is a tiny little thing).
This one has been named brownie bite (maybe miss E was really hungry for something sweet today)
The girls sure are having fun with feeding, playing, and holding.  Not into the cleaning up yet.
I guess I know what we will be doing this summer, looks like we will have about 2-3 more months of feedings before these babies can be completely on their own.

Graduation

Ashley graduated from Clarke County High School on Sunday June 10th, 2012

walking onto the field

still smiling in the 90 degree sun

there was a rule about NOT throwing balls during the ceremony, OOPS!

going to get her diploma

almost done

hats off to you Ash!
We are so proud of you, not for just what you have accomplished thus far but for the person you have become!

*On a side note, we were able to get all the close up pictures because of J walking onto the field to give Ashley her water bottle before the ceremony started and staying (pretending to be one of the official cameramen!)

Birthday Trip

J and I went to California for his birthday trip.  After landing in Fresno we traveled to Sequoia National Forest
The General Sherman

huge root system of a fallen tree
The next day we traveled to Yosemite National Park.
One of the many waterfalls in Yosemite

Half Dome

Part way up the trail to Half Dome we encountered snow, in May!  So beautiful!

The next day we went to the Fresno, California temple.  It is a much smaller temple than I am used  to, but it was absolutely beautiful!
The afternoon found us in the little town of Coursegold, California at the market.  Where else are you going to find skis and milk cans?
J was really excited about finding water pumps - he's been wanting one for the back field for years!  Too bad that they wouldn't deliver.

Prom

Sorry that it has been so long since I have blogged, but hopefully this will get everyone up to speed on what has been happening around here.

Ashley went to her senior prom
